LOCAL JP CANDIDATE HONORED DURING WNBA GAME

Ash Lee Hicks Named First "Woman of Inspiration" by Post University.

(UNCASVILLE, August 4, 2022) – Local Registered Nurse, small business owner, and candidate for Washington County District 15 Justice of the Peace, Ash Lee Hicks, was presented with the inaugural "Woman of Inspiration" award by Post University during the August 4th Connecticut Sun WNBA game.

Ash Lee is a Registered Nurse who works as a nurse educator to address the root cause of the nursing shortage. In 2021, she was proudly awarded Post University's first Social Justice Advocacy Scholarship for her advocacy for the safety of nurses, teachers, and children with disabilities during the pandemic. During her master's program, she founded an Arkansas social benefit corporation, Good2Grow Farm Co, based on an assignment that asked for a hypothetical solution to a problem. However, Ash Lee felt compelled to act. The produce grown on her woman-owned farm is donated to fight food insecurity in her community. She has volunteered countless hours vaccinating with the group Nurses Crushing COVID, served as the inaugural Chair for the City of Fayetteville's Community Development and Assistance Programs Advisory Board, and serves the Northwest Arkansas region on the Arkansas Nurses Association's Political Action Committee as a Nurse Advocacy Leader. She is now running to serve as a county legislator as Washington County's District 15 Justice of the Peace against a 20-year incumbent.

"When I started a small farm business in Elkins, Arkansas, I never dreamed it would grab national attention," states Ash Lee. "Not only is this business model replicable, but it's also scalable. You don't have to own 50 acres like my family does. A stay-at-home mom with a raised garden bed could start this type of company, give back to her community, and supplement a family income," she states. "I am honored to represent my community on the national stage in such a positive light. More importantly, I'm proud to do it in front of my four children."

Ash Lee plans to bring this forward-thinking, creative problem solving, and love for her community to the Washington County Quorum Court. To learn more about her JP campaign, visit her website at www.AshLeeHicks.com. For more information about Good2Grow Farm Co, visit www.Good2Grow.org.
